Decant Digital (formerly bizeez communications)
was founded in 2010 by Tania Shirgwin in the Barossa, South Australia.
Our Story So Far…
The Idea (circa 2007)
- I have always had a passion for communication and design. So the idea of a creative marketing agency started way back in 2007 while working for a global wine business. I quickly recognised emerging digital technology as a cost effective means to connect and engage wine brands with the wine consumer
We have liftoff! (2010)
- In 2010, I took the leap and founded bizeez with an aim to simply assist boutique wine brands learn more about how social media can connect and engage their target consumers and grow DTC wine sales
First Steps (2012)
- After assisting a number of wine brands with their social media, I was asked if I could create a tourism website for a small Bed and Breakfast. So in 2012, I designed, developed and search optimised our very first website – Barossa Old Garage BnB
Fear of Public Speaking Quickly Disappeared (2013)
- As my specialist knowledge of Wine Tourism grew, I was asked to run a number of workshops on a wide range of digital marketing topics for different specialty groups. Today, I love running workshops + training courses. Bring more on
Events, Events & More Events (2013 + 2014)
- Throughout 2013 & 2014, I really honed the skills of Event Marketing by working on numerous wine & hospitality events including the Barossa Gourmet Weekend. Fun times
LIFE CHANGING EVENT (2014)
- On Christmas Day 2014, I suffered an Ischemic Stroke which left me partially blind and with mobility issues. Sometimes life sucks
Pushing Forward (2015)
- Not content to feel trapped by stroke – I decided to push myself and signed up as a Speaker at the South Australian Tourism Conference, Social Media Tourism Conference and Australian Trade Tasting Conference. One heck of a year
Time to Consolidate (2016)
- After six years of only me assisting and collaborating with many fabulous wine, tourism & hospitality businesses, I took the step of bringing together a specialist team of in-house & freelancers. WooHoo!
Personal Milestone (2018)
- No business owner or entrepreneur can be all about business all the time. In 2018, I fulfilled a dream since having a stroke to drive from the Barossa Valley to Alice Springs and return to grow awareness and assist with raising much needed funds for the Australian Stroke Foundation. Mission accomplished
A New Home (2020)
- Ten years of running everything from a home office, I took the plunge and moved into a fabulous studio. One month later and COVID, hit so it was back to the home office for a few months. Not a fun year
A New Name (2021)
- With over a decade of experience working with global names and boutique brands in wine, tourism and hospitality, I decided to rebrand to truly reflect and showcase our marketing services…. say hello to say hello to Decant Digital
